How to Batch-Process Product Photos Without a Full Studio Workflow

Editing a handful of product photos is easy; editing 100+ consistently is where most sellers hit friction. A few habits make batch work much faster.

Standardize the input first. If every source photo is shot the same way (same lighting setup, same distance, same plain surface), background removal produces more consistent results and needs less manual correction per image.

Process one product fully — background removal, background fill, any text overlay — before moving to the next, rather than doing "all background removal, then all background fills" in separate passes. This catches problems (an odd edge, a wrong crop) on individual products immediately instead of after 50 photos.

Keep a simple naming/folder convention as you export, so it's obvious which edited file corresponds to which product when you're uploading to your store or marketplace later — this sounds trivial but is the most common source of mistakes in bulk photo work.

If your catalog is genuinely large (hundreds of SKUs), budget the coin/credit cost of any paid steps (AI-generated backgrounds, downloads) across your whole catalog up front rather than discovering the cost partway through.


