How to Add Captions to AI Videos (and Why You Should)

A large share of short-form video is watched with the sound off, in queues, on commutes and in shared spaces. Captions turn a silent clip into one that still communicates, and they give viewers a reason to stay past the first second.
With AI video the captions are usually the one thing the model cannot do well inside the clip itself. Asking a video model to render text in the scene often produces garbled letters. The reliable approach is to add captions as an overlay in an editor, which is why PixelloAI generates them separately and lets you edit every line.
Keep each caption short: one idea, roughly five to eight words, on screen long enough to read comfortably. Break long sentences across several captions rather than cramming them into one block.
Place captions in the safe area. On vertical video, the very bottom is covered by platform buttons and the very top by the interface. Keeping text in the middle third avoids both.
Use contrast, not decoration. White text with a subtle outline or shadow stays readable on almost any background. Reserve a single accent colour for the key word in a caption if you want emphasis.
Finally, check the timing after you edit the text. Changing the wording can make a caption longer than the scene it sits in, so preview the video once from start to finish before exporting.
