Using AI-Generated Backgrounds for Food Photography
Food photography lives or dies on styling — the plate, the surface, the lighting all matter as much as the dish itself. AI background generation offers a way to standardize that styling across many photos without physically restyling the shot each time.
Photograph the dish clearly with reasonably even lighting (natural light near a window works well), then use background removal to isolate the plate/dish from its original surface.
Generate or select a consistent background style — a rustic wood table, a marble surface, a softly blurred restaurant interior — and reuse the same style across your menu photos or blog posts for visual consistency.
One caveat specific to food: because texture and color accuracy matter so much for appetite appeal, always review the composited result at full size before publishing — check that the dish's edges and any garnish detail weren't oversimplified during background removal.
