The E-Commerce Product Photo Checklist

Before uploading a product photo to any marketplace, running through a short checklist catches the most common issues that hurt conversion rates.
Background: is it clean and consistent with your other listings? Most marketplaces (Amazon in particular) require pure white backgrounds for main listing images — PixelloAI's background remover plus a white background fill handles this in two steps.
Framing: does the product fill a reasonable portion of the frame without being cropped awkwardly? Zoom and crop before exporting rather than relying on the marketplace's auto-crop.
Consistency: do all your product photos share the same lighting style, background color, and general composition? Buyers browsing a catalog notice inconsistency even if they can't articulate why a store "feels" unprofessional.
Resolution: are you exporting large enough for zoom features most marketplaces offer? Export at the highest resolution available rather than a web-optimized small size, and let the marketplace compress it.
Text overlays (if used): is any text legible at thumbnail size, and does it comply with the marketplace's policy on adding text/logos to main images? Some platforms restrict this — check before publishing.
